I don't know how DD figured out the password but she just downloaded $250.00 in app purchases. I have gone to the purchase history and clicked report a problem with all the apps that she purchased.
The ipad is almost 2 years old and this has never happened!
Has this happened to anyone? Were you able to get your money back?

That's never happened to me, but I'm going to make my password more difficult.
Something similar happened to my sister, and my DD2, but only $20 worth of cakepop add-ons. My sister did a live chat with the app store (or apple?) and got a refund. She waited almost 24 hours too and they still refunded her. Hopefully, if you caught it quickly, they will refund most of it.
Apple didn't have the live chat option, so I put my phone number in to call me back. I got an immediate phone call, like the moment I hit send the phone was ringing.
I talked to a guy and he said I had been directed incorrectly to the states but he would escalate the ticket through email so apple could call me back tomorrow. I went through the purchases with him and he help me set up the ipad to prevent this from happening again.
Apparently, I had the setting that allowed you to download apps for 15 minutes without putting the password in. I had downloaded a free app for DD and then she was able to purchase additional apps without the password. She purchased two apps worth $99.00 each - yikes!
You can change this by going into general settings - restrictions - enable re :(strictions - change from 15 minutes to immediately. This will make it so that the password has to be put in each time an app is purchased.
I really hope it is refunded because $250.00 is a lot of money to spend for something she accidentally did without realizing it. :(
My friends son purchased over $100 worth of apps and they refunded her.

Nightmare! I bet they refund you though.
I hate the kids apps that basically just encourage them to click on links to buy other apps or add-ons.
I feel your pain...will be good if you can get a refund though! My 6 year old son has bought $200 worth of stuff like 'Farm Cash' on FB TWICE because first I...then my husband...had a credit card/Paypal linked. A couple of clicks, no password, and that was it. No refunds either.

Thank goodness! I am so happy right now. I got an email from itunes support that they will refund the money for this one time. It explained how to change the settings (which I did last night) and that they were in-app purchases.

This is totally why I didn't want to put in a credit card when we registered DD's IPod Touch. We ended up using and ITunes card instead.
Glad they refunded you! I don't have a credit card attached to my account at all!
