Safest choice
Our jeep needs to go in for a recall today so I have to take that instead of the van. I have 3 kids all in boosters. I just realized the jeep only has the lap belt in the middle back so my only choice would be to put DS in the passenger seat with his booster right? I need to make sure its got either the sensor for the air bag or I can shut it off.

I think that at almost 8 depending on his size I wouldn't put the booster under him at all.

Best choice? Put your 4 year old in a harnessed seat.
Do not use a booster with a lap belt. You child is better off in just a lap belt, without a booster. CPSafety - Your online child passenger safety resource
How old is the Jeep? Does it have advanced air bags? You could put one of the children (the oldest one, still in their booster) in the passenger seat with the seat as far away the air bag as possible. I'd be more likely to do this in a newer vehicle then have them in the rear seat in a lap belt only.
How old are you kids? Size/weight?

The jeep is a 2006, I'm going out to check it out shortly to see if its sensored air bags or I can shut them off. Its mainly SO's vehicle, he took the mazda today so I could take the jeep to the shop.
DD will be 5 in September - 45lbs
DS will be 8 in October - 55ish lbs

I believe a 2006 Jeep Liberty would have advanced (or multi-stage) air bags. I'd be reasonably comfortable putting the 8 year old in the front. I'd still move the seat as far away from the air bags as possible in case of a malfunction.

Thanks, I just played on the seat to see if a picture would come up if there wasn't enough weight (like our mazda does) but nothing popped up so I read the manual.
Thanks!
