Just for curiousities sake;
NO I am not trying to get pregnant, nor am I pregnant. Just wanted to be clear on that LOL.
When I was pregnant with M, I took 2 tests and got negative results - took them after my period was due.
I went to the doctors and asked for a blood test, they did a urine test and it came back negative. I told them I wanted a blood test and they asked me if I was TRYING to get pregnant. I told them I was 17 and there was no way I was TRYING. They told me that with the amount of tests I'd taken and stuff I'd described it sounded like I was being paranoid or wanted to be pregnant. Told me I had the stomach flu and sent me home.
So I went to another walk in clinic, asked for a blood test, again they didn't do it and went through the whole "Oh your young you shouldnt be trying to get pregnant"
Then I walked my arse to the hospital thinking oh they'll give me a blood test! But.. they wouldnt.
So my question is; How do you just.. take a blood test for pregnancy? With my clinic negatives I had asked but they wouldn't give it to me.
Again; Not pregnant, Not even having sex. JUST CURIOUS. LOL.

If I were to ask my doctor for a blood test, he would give it to me. He knows me well enough to know that I don't just ask for things that aren't needed. I think if you have a doctor that knows you, and respects you, that it's easy enough. It totally depends on the doctor though. I'm sure that if you said that you never got a positive through urine tests, only through blood tests, that they wouldn't question it.

For the most part only family doctors will. Or doctors that believe that if a woman truly feels that she is pregnant she probably is.

I've had lots of blood tests done to see if I'm pregnant, over the years. Didn't always trust the urine tests. I basically just waited my turn in walkins, said I think I might be pregnant, I need to know for sure and I understand a blood test is the most accurate way.
They worte out the form, I took it to a clinic, voila.
I did this once or twice when a lot younger, like pre-dh, and several times when with dh but didn't have a doctor.
Possibly because you told them you'd tested already,
they figured you weren't? I don't know.
It is odd.

I realize this is a little after the fact of the OP, but ... for me, I just KNEW I was pg. HPTs were faint, so I did a urine test at the docs. It came back negative, but I said that it couldnt be right, and that I was SURE I was pg. So they just told me to go to the blood clinic and they faxed over the paperwork and I did it that aft.

I've never had bloodwork done to confirm a pregnancy so I'm not sure how one would go about getting it done.

I'm with a fertility clinic so I just walk in and get one. Technically I could walk in the day my aunt Flo was due and have a blood test done without even taking a pee test

I've only ever done HPTs. My doctor didn't find out I was pregnant until I transfered Baby C's care from the MW at 6 wks PP. LOL
