Default Whats on your childs back pack?

I can't believe DS is only going into grade 2 and he's already done with 'character' back packs! He just wanted a black and grey one with a bit of colour in it.
    Last year was transformers.
DD is going into JK, she has a Dora back pack

DS just found one at Walmart that he adored, so that's the one we bought, although I wanted to get him a good one this year. It has Mario Kart Wii on it, of course He's going into SK.

Both of my girls are still using the backpacks they got when they started JK! They still work and are not ripped or anything so we are going to keep using them. My DD who is going into Gr.2 has a plain pink one from TCP and DD going into Gr.1 has a purple one with a ladybug picture on it that we got at Bentley. I'm pleased with how well both have held up.

DS1's and DS2's are just plain. No characters. We've never really done character stuff.

Pokemon (was a toss up between that and the Bakugan one). Still always character items - he won't even look if I try to point out non-character things, lol.

I still haven't bought DS1's bag yet. He's going back and forth between a blue bag and a toy story bag.

DS has a Toronto Maple Leafs one from last year. It was $20 at walmart, and when he said he liked that one I jumped at the chance because it was much, much better quality than the others on the shelf with characters. And, I figured that it was pretty immune to teasing. He doesn't actually care about sports much, other than playing them, but I thought hey, this has lasting power and this will be year two of the bag so I'm happy.

I have never bought a character one for my child, I refuse, lol.
She has a blue and burgandy plaid (Dakine) one from West 49. I will probably buy her a new one this year.
