    Default Shes using me

Babe is 16 months old and a total boob baby.

I am starting to feel 'used'. Like for example, oldest two are watching a movie. I sit down with them to have a coffee. DD comes to me and wants to nurse, i let her. As soon as the movie gets more exciting -music picks up- she lets go and watches. Movie tones down- she wants to nurse.

Is she just doing it for boredom?
Do you let your toddler bf like that?

Part of me is ready to wean her and yet I love the closeness we have. She does not eat well yet, shes a picky eater. She doesn't like milk , i've tried choc milk even. So then I feel guilty when I know she depends on me for so much.

    Totally normal.

She's not “using you“ but I guess at some point you do feel worn out and taken for granted, for sure! I remember feeling that way.

What happens when you gently tell her no, enough for now?

Don't wean if neither of you are ready. You can try distraction, or sitting somewhere different, or relegating a certain “spot“ for nursing, etc. At 16 months it's not too early or late to set some ground rules. It's gotta work for both of you, yk?

My ds is like this right now...If he's really hungry I take him in the other room to avoid distractions...but during the day I'm more like his “sippy cup“.

My 26 month old is like this. I figure its her way to have special time with Mommy, since I'm spread thin sometimes with all three and it comforts her. Its pretty funny that we'll argue about it. She'll be on the boob and I'll say I want my boob back and all you hear is nuuhnuuh as her mouth is full!

I have started saying “all done“ after I know shes been there a few minutes. Cuz i figure she's just a bit thirsty, but she is catching on quickly and started saying 'uhh' while still sucking.

With this huge heat wave comes a total wear out...i am feeling as drained as the empty rain barrels right about now.
