    Question Book scouts?

Have you ever found a rare book you wanted through a book scout service, and if so, who do you recomend?

My own landlord is one, but considering dude can't even get his stuff together to switch his mail to the right address, I don't really want to hire him I'm tired of writing "MOVED! FORWARD TO...." on mail like every two days.

What kind of rare book are you looking for? I know that I have been able to get books that are out of print by contacting the publisher.

What is a 'book scout service' and what do they do for you that you can't do using Google? I wanted a rare book once and I just found it on the Internet and ordered it myself.
Please always show kindness in your posts as the person receiving it may need it more than you will ever know.

I've been looking online but can't find it, so I wondered if a book scout could because they'd know private dealers, or perhapsh ave contacts with publishers, that kind of thing. Or maybe have it in their collection already.
I didn't actually know they existed til I kept getting mail for my landlord's book scout company, and googled it.

It's a history book sort of.

But what if some other random railroad buff sees our posts and nabs it first? lol. It's really hard to find. Right now I'm waiting for it to come in at the library so I can get all the info from the front cover, and see if I can contact the publisher directly or that kind of thing.

I'll rep you the name, how about that.
