I would love to have my son in this!!...but unfortunately we live in St. Thomas so it would be too far. Does anyone know if there is something similar to this in south london or st.thomas?

I'm not sure where in St Thomas you live but using Mapquest it's 30 minutes from St. Thomas to the turf where we play at Western.

I have 2 grasshopper kids who have played for almost 3 years and we have had no issues with rough play. They play with tennis balls and the 2 coaches keep things under control. Stick safety is taught from day one. If your dd has shin pads from soccer she can wear them for field hockey too.

This sounds like fun. I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't really know anything about this sport. Does it follow the same rules/guidelines as ice hockey? Or completely different?

*is there an additional cost for a uniform or anything else? $50 sounds awesome!

I would say the rules are more similar to soccer but slightly different. There are no additional cost....$50.00 for 8 sessions. Sticks are provided during turf time but if your children want to practise at home you can choose to buy a stick for approx $40.

THis is exactly what i was thinking. Laurynsmom I dont know where in map quest they measure from but i live at the most northwest end of st thomas (actually just outside) and there is no way it is 30min. I would say with traffic it is more like 45. that makes for a really long night.

THis sounds really great!! if anyone has info on south london or st thomas I would definately be interested. Im not sure there would be enough interest for a league to start in st thomas

Would love for my daughter to do this but Western is far from St T... trust me we drive it a lot... 45 minutes with all the construction right now.... and it puts us home too late for bedtime at night. Saturday morning I would be interested but a weekend night will not work dang it!
