Default Laundry - air drying question.

I'm making an effort to avoid using my dryer (except for bed sheets - too large to hang indoors). My towels and cloth diapers always come out stiff as boards, and it's driving me nuts! I don't want to use any chemicals in the wash. Any tips?

    Vinegar?

If the stiffness is really an issue, “fluff“ them for 5 minutes w/o heat. Just tumble a bit in the dryer - doesn't use much energy and you won't notice a difference on your bill.

Shake them. It isn't a big deal and doesn't stay stiff with use

We put sheets over the back of the dining room chairs to dry if the rack inside isn't big enough

    Thanks.
I'd been giving the prefolds a slap against my knees before folding them. My son seems to think it's pretty hilarious!

I'll use the no-heat option for larger things.

We use Claudia's Choices natural detergent and vinegar. There's a little stiffness when things dry, but usually a shake does the trick.

Also, my sister told me that if you hang your wet towels outside during winter so that they freeze from time to time, then bring them in, that it helps them go fluffier too.
