Default Need somoeone who has BTDT

So I served my ex with papers to go back to court.

He had 30 days to reply. Today is the 30th day and nothing - the mail has come and gone and trust me it's not coming.

We have a court date on April 26th. So can I call the courthouse and see if he like filed for an extension or something?! Or do I just wait and show up or what?!

Last time he didn't reply I had a lawyer so I knew what to do, this time I don't have one (don't need one) so I am curious.

My ex had 30 days to reply to and didn't bother so we just went to court the day we were suppose to. I used duty council.

So will he get reprimanded then by the judge?!

I know his excuse will be he needed more time, he hasn't paid child support like almost ever, so he's now as of March over 17K in arrears. So he has to file about 7 years worth of income tax. I wonder if the judge will be understanding of this.

NM - I called the courthouse. Apparently I just show up. I just would appreciate seeing what he's got to say before hand.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I hope I don't need luck. He's been a big loser for a long time and doesn't have a leg to stand on. I just hate how everything court related gets drawn out!

he is just using the system to delay things-why some men do this is beyond me.
My ex was like this but didnt owe as much...
We went to court and the judge had no tolerance with anything he said...
The judge just kept asking well if that were true you should of filed with the court for adjustments or filed with FRO in a pymt arrangement
I didnt even have to say anything.

    Court is stressful emotionally

My ex has never responded or showed up at court the 3 times I've taken him back. I'd love to have him come and hear what he has to say in responce.

I don't think you need to be wished luck as he is so in the wrong. Love to hear what he says / judges says.

The last time we went in 2007 he didnt respond and we went to trail without him and the judge ordered everything I wanted. This time he “says“ he will show.

I am just hoping he leaves in cuffs for what he's done, or hasn't done I should say.

honestly judges tend to be lenient to those with out lawyers at least that my experiences with the dumper going straight to trial with out one according to my lawyer they do this so nothing can be screwed around with on an appeal.

My ex didn't respond on court papers I had served him, and tried using that in court, “That he didn't have enough time“. The judge looked at his lawyer and said you have an hour!! So we came back after the hour, and he gave me settlement papers, and we bantered back and forth on them and finally settled.

My ex didn't respond and didn't even go to court on our court day. It worked in my favor though. The judge gave me everything I asked for.
