Question what is a blip on a CT?

I am looking for some feedback, and I find that you guys get stuff almost everyone else does not. X got his CT read. It priliminarily says there was a "Blip" on his lung. What the h#*l does this mean? what a rollercoaster, I really want off...but maybe I am strong enough to handle it anyways. Blood work was not done, which urks me...and now they will be reviewing his scans tomorrow for a redu. But I am still unsure of this blip?? It is not huge yet...it is 1 cm. But was not there last time.

    Thx

Was it a “blip“ or a “spot“? My husband had a medical problem that required a follow-up ct scan during which they found “spots“ on his lungs. (the lungs weren't why he had the CT scan) We were told that it is very common for people on SW Ontario to have these on their lungs on scans - something to do with pollution. Most likely, they will follow up their findings with more CT scans over the next few months, and if the spots don't change or grow any bigger, you don't have to worry about them. But I don't know if that would apply to your case or not.

C, I've copied your message and sent it to Tracy. I'll let you know what she says.

Do you have her email? You could also try and get in contact with her through Faith's CB site. She would be a good person to run things by as your 2 boys and Faith had the same Cancer.

    Hugs!!

blip means they don't know that is why they are re doing it.
Don't worry until you get the redo done they get blips all the time on all kinds of scans and they turn out to be nothing at all.

    Default update on the "blip"

the blip is suspected to be a “bleb in the plura“ meaning when xanders lungs collapsed (both sides to 50%) the air was stored out side of the lungs creating a “bleb“ which is an air blister on his lower lobe of his lung. They said any problem with breathing bring him in asap. If this blister bursts it can cause total havic. But they said this is not a mastic growth! Which is better news. He was supposed to get 9 month immunization needles today...we will see what the GP says.

That is good that is not mastic growth. Sorry that it mean if it bursts it can cause havoc. Hopefully the blister will go away soon (if that is possible?).

glad it is kinda good news - well definitely good that it is not a mastic growth, but wish it weren't a concern at all
