Did you take diclectin while pregnant? If so, could you take one of those if you have any leftover?

Unfortunately no...I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't get sick while pregnant.

Not sure what this is but praying it's not the stomach virus that everyone else seems to have around London!

I have been given it in an iv while breastfeeding, and have been advised by my doctor, telehealth, and pharmacist that it is safe to take.

The safe fetus site says it can cause unusual irritability or excitement. Neither of those potential side effects concern me.

You can call motherrisk if you want more information.

What about the ginger gravol? Maybe it would be considered more safe?

I have no other suggestions, I hope you feel better soon! The virus we had a few weeks ago was short lived but last week DS had a much longer virus that is going around, I hope if you're sick it's over quickly!

Call motherisk or get in touch with Jack Newman. Personally, I would take it. You can give babies gravol, so if you look at how much you take, dilute within your blood system, breastmilk levels won't be higher than blood levels, is that going to be enough to overdose a baby? I know Jack Newman often comments on drugs that we will give babies directly and then people being told they can't take it while breastfeeding, seems very silly. Especially as gravol doesn't have a lot of negative side effects - mostly drowsy, except for those that go the other way

    Hope you feel better soon!

Hmm, well now I'm torn...it does make sense what you're saying about how they give it to babies but then it's not ok for a breastfeeeding mom to take?

I'm not eating anything for fear of losing it based on how queasy I feel. Yuck.

DH is coming home, so I may just sleep and see how I feel after that....

Put DH on the phone to Mother risk while you lay down! I've not heard that there is an actual risk to taking it while breastfeeding before, so probably worth a call to confirm so you can take it.

oh no! I hope it's short lived whatever you have. If you have the number for mother risk I can call for you.
