I don't think its a matter of segregating anyone, more a place where people can chat about specific issues related to getting older. Great place for younger people to read about issues they may be facing in the years to come too!

It would be a special interest forum, like the special needs or expecting forums, not keeping anyone out, but a place where we can talk about these issues and it won't get buried.

I would prefer the title “more mature moms“.

Um, I'd be in it, so that title would so not work.

I'm 37 and I would also be for a new section for the 35+ age bracket -- I like “More Mature Moms“ too!

I love the name game. I really hope someone does make a space for whatever we end up being called. I'm not keen on yummy mummy either but the rest of them are cute.

I have absolutely no problem talking in the other groupings about my kids and the many other great topics that come up but I've been on LM's now for a while and I never seem to see the things that I am curious about or dealing. I check regularly, hoping... but no joy.

I did the age poll because I suspected the predominant age was much younger than me.

It's hard to talk about bone density and stressing about a family history of arthritis in general chat. It makes me feel and sound like a dinosaur and I'm very much not.

I've started my family very much later in life. Apparently this is becoming more common. Sometimes I'd just like to talk to people who are raising young kids while gearing up for the challenges of aging gracefully.

I'm hoping some of you other MMM's - more mature moms - who have spoken up here might have some things to teach me about balancing life with my kids and the issues that are already coming up because I'm not 25.

It is really nice to hear that I'm not the only MMM on LM's.

Is this thread throwing anybody else? Menopause, bone density haven't even crossed my mind! Maybe denial? But I don't feel like a mature mom... 30's are not old...nor 40's or 50s. Lets revisit the issue when we in our 60s.

I don't mind discussing my wrinkles and grey hairs amongst the young-uns except for the fact that threads that aren't 'busy' tend to get buried quickly here.

I know! I'm freakin shocked everytime I realize how old I am and that I'd consider myself old if I'd met me like 20 years ago! The fact that I can even say 20 years ago and know I was an adult is just weird.

LMAO you know what just happened? I just realized I'm not 36, I'm still 35! OK, so I turn 36 less than a month but I totally forgot my age. I do it all the freakin' time too. They do say memory is the first thing to go.
I'm feeling better about just making the cut...at least for another month. LOL
