    Default Daycare Costs

I was thinking I should probably have a backup plan for daycare in case the family thing falls through for when I go back to work in Nov I don't want to even think about it already, but I suppose I should.

On average, how much does FT daycare M - F say 8:30 - 5:30 cost? Do daycares even run that long in a day?

One word of advice, call and get your name on waiting lists for daycares My centre has probably a year if not longer waiting list. I also beleive that infant care for full time(7:30am util 6:00 pm) is $52 a day..

My oldest dd goes to a home daycare and we pay $38 per day. My youngest dd will be going to a daycare centre, as our HDCP does not have an opening, and will be paying about $43 per day when I go back in August. I agree with other posters...you should call and get your name on some waiting lists.

We go to Western Daycare...we have a subsidized rate too. definitely look into subsidy to see if you qualify.
Western Daycare only does a flat top up fee of $15 a week too which is really good.
Daycare is open 7:30-6 no limit on amount of time they can stay...some say only 9 hours butif you work out of town and work 8 hour shifts it isn't always feasible.
We love love love Western daycare!

I pay $38 per day for licensed daycare. DD is a preschooler though and I know that babies (under 18 months) are more expensive.

They open at 7:30am and close at 5:30pm. The don't accept children under 18 months though.

PP's mentioned to get on waiting lists and that is a must, especially for young children - as they usually have fewer spots because of the staffing ratios required.
