Default Car seat expiry question....yes another question ;)

So, I am 99% sure that there USED to be a sticker on my car seat saying it expired in Dec 2012. Said sticker fell off while washing the car seat a while ago.

Today I noticed that the manufacture date of the seat is Dec 2004.

Is it possible that the seat was/is good for 8 years? (According to the 2012 expiry sticker)

    Or, is this seat expired?

Oh, the seat is a Cosco convertible of some sort.

OK...tell me I'm not crazy here. Have the expiry dates CHANGED? Is it possible that when this seat was manufactured it was stickered with an 8 year sticker......but expiry dates have reduced to six since? I swear the sticker said Dec 2012.

I can't find anywhere on their site to enter my DOM. But did find a customer review saying only good for 6 years.

It is the Alpha Omega Elite Hammer Print Convertible seat (Cosco).

The above website only says either 6 or 8 years for Cosco seats :S Doesn't help clarify.

Best way to find out is to call the manufacturer with the model number and they'll be able to tell you. You may also be able to get a new sticker to put on it too.

That seat is good for 8 years.

If you look in the “product type“ column it'll tell you what kind of seat. Yours is a 3 in 1? so it's an I/C/B - infant/child/booster - and has an 8 year expiry. If it's just a convertible seat then it's 6 years because it's just a I/C.

Did you get the details on the seat from the manufacturer? 30 lb RF limit?

Yeah, the 3-in-1s are 8 years from them, so at least you haven't completely lost your mind, hehe! This car seat is giving you grief though!
