What is wrong with people? OMG! It is a real shame that they can do more to his bio mother for putting this poor child through all of this. I am really sorry that your family has had to endure this process. I don't get why people just can't put the child's best interests above their own. I wish you the best going forward.

Do you have full custody right now?! Are you sure about the councellor thing - my DHs ex took the girls too without our consent and never even told us, the kids told us. =( Its so horrible that children have to go through this crap. I am so so so so very sorry.
Please PM me if you want to vent privately or if you need support.

It's joint custody. Even the judge said today there is no way one parent can legally take a child to speak to a counceller without the written consent of the other parent. He was shocked a counceller would have even agreed to it. What's worse is our lawyer spoke with the counceller last week and told her that DH didn't agree.

    Thats good info......

I really hope things turn around for you. The assessment that is going to take place, is that the one that costs 6K?! We were looking into that as well. It takes months I think and they interview a lot of people for it.

Ah! I hope it's not that much. It'll be split 50/50. I guess it consists of 3 sessions with just jerrith. One session with each set of parents. Then one session of J with each set of parents. So 7 sessions @ 160 per hour, so $1200ish?

we had to go through OCL, they were really great. they were very straight forward about recognizing that the children had been coached, as we had assumed, they completely stated that the words of the children could not be considered as it was obvious the opinions the kids were stating were not their own. it was very validating and reassuring to know that there are specialists who were able to talk to the kids, several times, and really see what was going on.
they met with them alone several times and also in both households to observe etc.
they also interviewed the school and doctors etc.
good luck kaisa, that is really stressful to go through and it breaks your heart to see a child put in the middle like that. poor guy.
    xoxo
no one can hide the truth forever. have faith in that.
(office of the childrens lawyer had no cost, and we did it in stratford, it only took a couple of months. they represented the kids.)
