    Default Quilting

Where could I go do to learn to quilt? Say a table runner or hanging? Is it mostly self taught?

Joyce's Sewing Shop in Wortley Village - Kelley is great.
The class calendar is only posted up to January. The next session and newsletter should be finished and posted very soon. They will repeat some of the classes listed on the website and offer some new ones too.

I am self taught for the cutting, piecing and binding. I took a class for machine quilting the sandwhich of layers together with Kelley. I am going to do an advanced class soon with her.

Fabricland has classes. Cotton-By-Post in Arva has classes but they just started to update their website regularily again. The Marsh Store has lessons and is in Coldstream. She doesn't have any posted right now but will by the end of the month most likely. Quilts and Calico in Exeter offers lots of lessons.

If you want to learn on your own there are some quilting books at the library.

I self taught myself years ago. If you can sew already get yourself a book if you are not interested in a class. I have a ton of fave books that many have sections on getting started, if you want suggestions. If you don't really know how to sew I'd def take a course!

I think London needs a quilt guild, especially for young quilters...

If we were to all go then maybe we could takeover...

Srsly though there is suppose to be a couple guilds. I have only found the one and have never attended. I did go to their quilt show in the fall. There was some really beautiful quilts there.
