Default LF Input on Puppy's New Name

We are going to pick up a female bloodhound puppy tomorrow and we have a few names floating around and are having difficulty picking one (worse than our kids' names!). What do you all think? Poll to follow...

ETA: We also have two cats: Beauchat (Handsome cat in French) and Bijou (Jewel in French) and two guinea pigs: Lyla and Fudge

Oh forgot to mention, I LOVE bloodhounds as all the hunting dogs. We have a Gordon (Scotish) Setter named Misty Alaska

They're all awesome names! I don't think you can go wrong. I'd pick her up and spend some time with her to see which name suits her best.

They're beautiful dogs -- good luck & congrats!

We had a Golden Retriever who just passed away in September. He was 13. We LOVED him to pieces, but not the hair! We have been looking for another dog from the hunting group with short(er) hair. The Bloodhounds seem to be a great fit for our lifestyle and it feels right to be getting a puppy.

My grandparents bred Irish setters when I was growing up and I used to be a junior handler. Beautiful dogs! One of their dogs was the Top Dog in Canada and was on the dog food bags - very cool!

I like them all, but for the meaning I think artemis is pretty cool

Although I know a blood hound that chases rocks. he'll always bring you the same one back mind you

I learned it while staying in Quebec, so it just might be. This is the name my dh likes and it does go well with Bijou and Beauchat, but I, too prefer Artemis. I'm hoping once I meet her, one name will fit. Otherwise, it just might be Artemis as 4 out of 6 of us chose that one. We came up with Bidule after the kids went to bed, though, so we will see what the morning brings.

I'd keep in mind what names might sound like commands, or your kids' names, or so on. I had a dog once whose name rhymed with a cousin's name. Caused some confusion for the toddler and dog.

I find as with kids names dogs names get shortened too. I like artemis but not arty so much. We just named our puppies Sadie and Diesel and they are Sadie Lady and Big D....LOL.
