Default Adventures on Wonderland - is it just me?

Or is the place going downhill? The last couple of times I went, the place seems, well, grubby. Like I want to wash my hands every 5 minutes. And the jungle part seems to kinda reek.

Also, the claw game has been broken for a while, and the washrooms are always trashed and/or out of soap/paper towels. I don't know if anyone remembers Mr. Chuckles, but that place was awesome but really went downhill before it went under. Best pizza in the city!

YES, I ALREADY SAID I WAS BORED!!!

OH I loved Mr. Chuckles. I haven't been to AOW for a while, but the ball pit always grosses me out, and yes it was dirty when we went last.

Ya I'm not a fan, the place is always filthy and a bit pricey.

was there today....it's getting pretty bad...are they not making enough money to keep it updated and clean??? i find the 'big ball' area pretty disgusting. But, the problem is there isn't much else to do with kids on 'rainy days' in london, and my ds always has a good time.

I want a Chuck E Cheese in London. I like the one in Cambridge, except that they took the toddler area away. I like Adventures on Wonderland, but find the price to be a bit pricey for two children, especially when it looks like things haven't been updated in a while.

This Chuckles place predates me, but I've always found AOW to be somewhat yucky. But like a pp said - there's not a lot of other places to take kids to if you can't/don't want to go outside. When the weather's yucky it's a toss up between the Museum and AOW - or boring and dirty as we call them.

We'll see if there's a correlation between grubbiness and imminent closure! You say this Chuckles place was yucky then closed. Gymboree got pretty grubby before it closed. Is AOW next?! God help me on rainy days then!

My kid got hopelessly lost up in the tunnels and was screaming, and I couldn't locate anything about where she was over the din of other children. It was pretty scary actually for us both. I suck at climbing those things so i asked two staffers to find her quick. My friend from our group ended up getting to her first and bringing her down on her back. Oy teh trauma! Now I climb with her but it's not very pleasant and it's pretty hard work!

fyi, they used to have kneepads available for loan at the front, if you can't bring your own. Will save you much swelling and pain!

Ooh I should ask! I would still find it hard physical work and would limit how much I climb, but Maya's dad would definitely climb more with her if he had kneepads. Cool.
