    Default Mama's Got Swag: TUPPERWARE

    TUPPERWARE

I donít even have to tell you what Tupperware is. Who didnít have those red, green, yellow, and blue Tupperware cups growing up? My mother still has ours, which is a testament to the staying power of Tupperware. Tupperware makes everything from those durable cups, to storage containers, cookware, lunch containers, shakers, and cake takers (one of my all-time favourite items).

Until recently, I had not owned any of my own Tupperware Ė with the exception of the jello mold handed down from my Nana! Like many of you, my cupboard was a jumble of yogurt containers with taped on labels, mismatched Gladware containers or dollar store stuff with lids that would not seal no matter how much I cursed and hammered on it. When Sarah offered to help me tidy up my pantry, I was intrigued. The debate in my head began. It seemed like quite a financial investment to replace all of my current containers with new Tupperware and would create a big pile of containers to now get rid of. This wasnít jiving with my desire to first REUSE, then REDUCE. So, I did a little poking around. For starters, I have no idea what those yogurt containers and dollar store containers are leaching into my food, but if you believe half of what this great internet tells you, it wasnít anything good. Add onto that Tupperware is BPA-free, has lifetime guarantee, and makes efforts to be a socially responsible company and I was starting to get convinced. Unlike the plastic containers you can buy at the grocery store, Zellers or Walmart, if a Tupperware container ever cracks, peels, chips or breaks they will replace it! No more buying new containers every six months when things get broken. As long as I use it the way itís meant to be used, I will never have to pay for a replacement item. I was sold.

I love baking with my children, so a stocked pantry is a definite must-have. Sarah told me about the Modular Mates and the Super Cereal Storers, I was ready to clean up my cabinets. Flours, sugars, raisins, chocolate chips of various flavours, cereals, grains, lentils, milk powders, nuts, tea, drink mixes, spices and herbs, EVERYTHING found a new home and that new home fit neatly stacked on a shelf. With all the orderliness, I found I suddenly had an empty cupboard beside my stove where the overflow used to get stuffed.

The best thing about these containers, other than the pleasure it give me to see order in my kitchen, is that my four year-old can open them and my two year-old cannot. Just the way things should be.
Sarah always offers a 10% off discount to all Mom Perks card holders, but for THIS WEEK ONLY she will be offering a 20% discount to all LondonMoms and your order will be available for pick up at the LondonMoms Shopping Event at Carling Heights on November 19 from 7-9pm. She can also make and gift wrap custom Tupperware gifts in any theme or price range! You will also get a 20% discount if you book a party this week for anytime in November. Time to start your Christmas shopping! Or your wish list Send Sarah an email at annesley7@gmail.com or send her a pm on the forum (Sardam).

One of Tupperwareís best sellers is the Quick Shake Container. It has two cup measurement markers on the side so you can measure your ingredients right in the cup. Dressings, marinades, drinks, and whatever else you can shake up. Have a look at the Tupperware website: http://order.tupperware.com/coe/app/home and then POST IN THIS THREAD to let us know what items would be on your wish list. You can post as often as you want until Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 8pm, when one lucky post will be selected to win a Quick Shake Container! Good luck!
