    Unhappy Dealing with loss

I'm not sure which section to post this in, but I need some advice. My DH's grandmother helped to raise him and his brother, and is super close with her. She is in the terminal ward in the hospital and the doctor told them they don't think she'll make it through the night. This is my DH's first major death in the family! I've lost so many and know how to deal with grief but other than being there for him I'm not sure how to comfort him. I'm really scared how he will react.

Hugs. Just be there for him, and try to follow his lead. Ask if he wants to talk or be alone or just be with you but not talk about it. You will know how to support him. I am sorry you & your family are going through this.

wrap your arms around him and tell him you love him.

when my MIL passed away this past December, My DH's heart was breaking, my heart was breaking for the pain I knew he was feeling, I kept telling him I loved him and I was proud of him. It was almost like I fell in love with DH all over again, watching him in pain reminded me of how much I love him , we clung to each other through it all.

just give your DH a big strong hug and be strong for him. hugs to you

Mother Hen - sorry I don't have any advice, but wanted to send my prayers and some warms hugs for you and your DH.

I think the above advice is really good. Maybe you can also ask him to talk to about her when the time is right (might be nice for him to just talk about his memories of her).

    ((Hugs))

Thanks so much! It's awful right now. I'm in Fergus at my parents house and he's in Toronto. I don't know what's going on and I'm waiting for him to phone me! It's so hard being far away from him!

Hey! So sorry to hear that. I went through the same thing just over a year ago with my Grandfather who was more like a father to me. How to help him through this will just come to you. You are already a very compassionate person so I don't think you will have a problem. Lots of hugs and lots of love and you guys will all get through this.

    Take Care.
