Default Urgent - need as much backup as possible for our team meeting this week.

So I found out today that the team meeting for my DD is going to be this week. This will be board people, principal, us, teacher (I expect), etc. I have called the Parent Mentors from Autism Ontario London, and hope that they can come out, but with such short notice I'm not sure what will happen.

Any other sources of backup I can get? I want someone there to take notes for us for sure, and I want to talk to someone who can maybe advocate for us.

Could you get help from one of the Social workers from TVCC?

Does she have a case manager or support worker through TVCC or CPRI? Call them. They're going to be busy though bc there will be a lot of these meetings.

Have you applied for IBI through TVCC? I (or someone below me) go to meetings like that all the time for clients on the waitlist or in service, or just out of service even.

MAN! That's short notice! What gives? Can you even take a friend or someone who knows the lingo to take notes for you? When is the meeting?

    Thurs!

It is short notice. We have no case worker. I'll send an email to the people at Realize Community Potential (RCP) at the Aut Ont office.

Who are the board people, specifically? Ask about a program called Connections and say you want the rep from that for the area to attend. Don't be afraid to tell them to reschedule if you can't get everyone you want there. If it comes down to it, go in there and insist on a second meeting if you are unhappy with the turnout and representation.

Apparently you do have a caseworker, you just don't know who it is. Everyone has one. You're a TVCC client right? Call them. Even if it's someone you've never met or heard of, get them in there bc they'll be able to ask questions or at the very least you'll get to meet someone new who can help you.

ETA: my mom told me so about the caseworker thing and it's true at my agencies as well. I have no idea who DS's is, but they're out there somewhere.

We were discharged from TVCC last year. I wonder...? We wouldn't still have someone would we? Unless we get into the autism program, Right?

I am not sure - I think the spec ed coordinator, possibly the psychometrist, slt, not sure who else. I'll confirm with the principal and ask about the connections program.

Call CPRI then, you should have someone somewhere. I think. If TVCC discharged you then you wouldn't have someone there. Would probably only get one through IBI after she's found eligible.

frig, that is soon! It should be a good thing though, I hope. I will take notes for you if you don't get support from any of the folks you're working on but you are for sure likely best to get someone 'official' if you can...

Thinking good thoughts for you, Geo. I don't know your system so I'm not sure what to suggest. But I'll be following this.
