Default Questions about DivaCup

Hi All,
Saw a post about the Divacup and didn't want to hijack the thread. I have seen this or a similar product in shoppers drug mart and I have a few questions about it.
Ok here goes; For those of you that use it regularly. Do you ever get infections from bacteria or yeast? How often do you wash it and what do you wash it with? Also, I was on the website and seen that they had two sizes available, one for under 30 without kids and one for over 30 with kids, so if I am under 30 with children what size would I purchase? Is it uncomfortable/messy? Thanks in advance for your responses

I've been using mine for almost three years. If you have children, you'd get the size for women who have already had children.

I rinse mine with warm water after each use. There is a rinse you can buy that the company makes, but I've never used it.

I've never had an infection from bacteria or yeast while using it (well, once when I was pregnant, but I wasn't using the DivaCup at the time )

I don't find it uncomfortable and IMO it's not too messy. Your fingers do get a bit dirty, but it's not gross or anything (again, IMO).

It's well worth the money. I haven't bought tampons or pads in more than three years.

I have been using mine for 4yrs. I couldnt imagine my life without it.
My GF uses those “Instead“ disposalbe cups from shoppers she seems to like them.
My thought is why have to throw them out. buy a reusable! Saves hundreds of $$ a year!

I love my Diva Cup. I woudl definatly get the size for those with kids. thats what I was told. I love mine. I havent been ablet o use it all that much yet (thankyou pregnancy and extended breastfeeding LOL) but when I did use it I always just rinsed it with warm water. I never had any sort of infections what so ever. I will never use a pad or tampon again, the cups are well worth the money

I love mine and despise tampons now. I wash mine during my cycle with soap and water. I try to boil/sterilize it after each cycle but that doesn't always happen. I've never had infections or bacteria build up from it. You'll need the size 2.

Before buying, make sure it is DivaCup, the others are different

Never had an infection down there in my life

I rinse it in the sink during my cycle, occasionally with some soap that is available, I never sterilize or wash with anything else.

There are two, size 1 is for under 30 with no kids, the size 2 is for over 30 or have had kids.

Not uncomfortable at all, very comfortable once I got used to it. A bit messier than just pads I'd say, but you get good at it quickly

That's my two cents

the most wonderful thing in the world. Ive actually found that my cramps have receded with using it even. I wash with the diva wash, and a drop is all I use. Get the size 2. The only caution with using the diva cup ( I wouldn't get anything else) is that the first few months until you get used to it you might not put it in right everytime which will result in leakage until you make sure to get the suction right. I used pads, now I don't need to. I have never gotten an infection at all, it reduces the chances of getting them and there is no chance of TSS that there is with Tampons. And they are more comfortable than tampons by far!

I love my Diva Cup. I've been using it for a few years now (although not for the past year bc of pregnancy and breastfeeding). No cramps, no leaks (after the first try... didn't figure out the seal right away). I only wash mine in water with soap during my cycle. Every once in a while I will sterilize it. Never got an infection or anything. Well worth the $$
