Question Not sure what to do!!

I'm not sure what to do.
DD has been so restless at night for a few weeks but if she rolls on to her tummy she seems to sleep better. I HATE when she sleeps on her tummy because I've found her squishing her face into the mattress! She's still got her head turned just enough to breathe but it still scares me.
She has a positioner in her crib so that prevents her from sleeping on her tummy but she wakes up a lot because she can't get comfortable!
When she sleeps with out it she seems to sleep better.
I'm not sure what to do!
Do I let her sleep without the positioner but risk her sleeping face down, or do I keep her in the positioner but not have a good sleep??

I found that once my kids could roll they decided how they were comfortable to sleep

I agree with what others have said, once my kids were that age, they often slept on their tummies. YDD loves to sleep with a blanket over her face, it freaks me out but I just pull it down once she's asleep.

Once they start to roll to their tummies IMO they enough head control. If she is going to sleep on her tummy she will. DS2 like both, if he's out cold and I lay him on his back he stays until the morning. but if he is light sleeping he moves around.

My only suggestion is to remove all the stuffies and extra blankets from the bed. if they are wearing the right jammies they really dont need a blankie we use recieving blankets

I agree with others. Once they could roll they all started sleeping on their tummies and they would all sleep better that way too.

I too agree with the others. She can move around on her own she so she will be okay on her tummy. That's how DS sleeps with his little bum in the air, haha.

I agree with PP. DD is a tummy sleeper too and sometimes buries her face in the mattress. She loves to cover her face with a blanket too.

I was having this issue when L was round 2 months, and I would keep waking up to flip her back to her back, but then I realized she is sleeping better and does it on her own to leave her! She sleeps so much more comfortably.

DS2 is 4 1/2 months. He prefers to sleep on his side or tummy. I just leave him because he sleeps much better and he's old enough to turn his head and get out of a position where he wouldn't be able to breathe.
They (whoever they are ) say its okay to let them sleep on their tummies once they start to roll. You would be up all night flipping them back if they weren't supposed to.

Chimming in a little late. I agree. Once they can move their head in their sleep I'm fine with them sleeping stomach down.

Well I took the positioner out of the crib and she slept from 7pm till 5:30am only waking twice because she lost her pacifier! She got up at 5:30 am and sat up! Which scared me because with her positioner she can't sit up! LOL
I got her back to sleep no problem and she slept again till almost 10am!!! I even got up before her!
Maybe this is what she's needed all along?
I still don't like her face squished into the mattress, but I guess she'll move herself!
Thanks again!!
