Ok, so I got these cloth diapers....
Ok, so I got a few kawaii diapers at Baby Shower #1 yesterday.
I know they have to be washed first.
What do I do with them?
Go buy some Rock'n Green and take out my bounce bar from the dryer?
Do you just wash the pads, or the covers too?

def. take out the bounce bar, wash the entire dipaer, inserts and cover at least a couple of times.
You can use your regular detergent but 1/4 of the rec'd amount.

You shouldn't have to wash too many times, maybe twice. Since it is a hot day I would recommend hang drying at first. I don't know about how much residue the bounce bar leaves behind as I know nothing about it. Does is leave anything? Fabric softener is like, the foil of cloth diapers!
Everyone I know is raving about rockin green right now - it is certainly the new “it“ detergent for CDs.

Yeah, no bounce bar!
I almost always hang dry the outer shells for longevity but dry inserts in dryer.
You don't have to wash more than once or twice since they're synthetic materials. The natural dipes, like prefolds, need to be washed several times for best absorbancy, as there are natural oils in them.

The bounce bar is a fabric softener bar you put in your dryer until it runs out, instead of using liquid fabric softener or sheets. I read fabric softener was bad.
So, if I just get some good detergent and wash in HOT and hang to dry that should be good? Do I was fully, then dry, then wash fully, then dry again? Or do I wash twice in a row and then just hang to dry. Any special rinsing thing I should do? I have the PC Baby laundry detergent right now, just to prewash all the baby clothes I've gotten, I was going to get the rockin' green for the diapers.
Then once that is done, they can just sit on the change table til baby comes and makes a poopie? LOL.

Dry then rewash. Then yes, they can sit until baby shows up!

I wouldn't use just any detergent, look up ones that are okay. I just do a rinse, hot wash with a rinse at the end. I only washed my new diapers once before using them and they were ok.

yes fabric softener is the most toxic thing in most peoples houses very very big no no.
dryer sheets are no good for cloth diapers either.

Haha A is still on the smallest snaps! She was 6lbs 12oz at birth and didn't fit into kawaii for more than a few weeks, same with all our one size dipes.

I use Kawaii and love them. I washed about 2-3 times before using them. I wouldn't recommend using just regular detergent. Here are 2 websites to help choose
Detergent Chart for Use in Cloth Diapering
OR
Cloth Diaper Detergent Chart - Best Detergent for Diapers
Every once and a while I will do a second wash with baking soda or dawn dish detergent as it helps with stripping. the above website explains all about it.
