Does anyone use this product?
Can you tell me if it's covered under your plan?
Noah got a script for it today, and I'm scared to see how much it costs. lol
He has ACSD coverage. Any get them to cover it? If so, how?

i would think if you call ASCD.. and ask them they will be able to tell if its covered.. also isn't their a form that your son's dr. can give you that you take to the pharmacy and it covers special scripts such as this.. (not sure if you can get it at the pharmacy)..

were due soon as well.. i would assume that they are the ones responsible for keeping the info up to date. not us.. but never had to renew before.. I would actually like to update as we have a few new expenses.. but never get through .. is there a reason you don't want to call.. and have to renew..??

I am pretty sure you have to do it as a special request and that it is not something that is regularly covered...I had to jump through hoops to get DD's specially covered when she was on it a couple years ago.

Thanks Greenwaves! I don't mind jumping thru the hoops if it gets it covered. Annoyed, yes, but I'll do it. lol

We use it at work all the time - I have no idea about coverage, etc., but I'm guessing it can't be that expensive because nobody has ever told us to use it sparingly Usually if it's an expensive product, they'll find an alternative or ask that we only use it when absolutely necessary.
The dietary department where I work also managed to get hold of some pre-thickened drink boxes...not something you'd want to use all the time, but might be convenient for days out and so on. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I'm not sure of the company that does it, but I don't think it would be difficult to track them down.

Well, that's a US site - but $77 for a 10lb bag of it is MUCH less than I was expecting to see. That would last a long time. What consistency do you have to thicken to? nectar? honey? pudding? We have large tubs of it at work and re-fill little icing tubs (that you'd use for cakes) to keep on our med carts. One of those little icing thingies full of the thick-it can last ages - and for my residents, I'm talking pudding thick for the most part (which requires more than if you just need nectar).
I just swagbucks searched it to see if i could find a canadian retailer - and they sell it on Amazon. So if coverage doesn't work out, you could use swagbucks to get amazon cards and use them towards it?

I have half a jar that you are more than welcome to. Also, I just purchased it at grocery stores in the states for like $7/smaller tube so if you know anyone who is going to go across. It last a LONG time as you barely need to use any of it for it to work. DD had to use it to get introduced to solids.
