Default Talk to me about selling/trading wraps on FSOT

Sooo I'm working on some stash refining as I learn what my preferences are. I'm kind of nervous selling and trading online but I know lots of you have done it. Talk me out of my fears please?

I wonder about shipping costs - how much does shipping tend to cost within Canada and to the US? (I'm sure it varies a lot, but a range or average would be really reassuring to me. )

Also, I don't understand the whole TV thing. Why is it different than the asking price? Is this to account for shipping costs? How do you figure it out?

Thanks guys!

Are you thinking of including shipping in your price? If you know how much it weighs, go to canada post's site and see how much it'll cost to send to various areas.

There was lots of discussion about trade value back when I was still looking at FSOT... basically people couldn't sell their wrap for what they paid for it, so the selling price was lower, but if they wanted to trade for something else they wanted it to be of similar value (ie I can't sell my silk whatever for what I paid, so here's the selling price, but if I'm going to trade I think it's worth this much more, and don't offer me something of lesser value in trade). It has nothing to do with the shipping, in a trade each person just pays shipping for their own thing, so it's not taken into account. As far as TV goes, some people think it's ok, some people think it's BS. For trades go both parties have to agree anyway, so if you or the other person don't like what's being offered it won't go ahead. Some people won't bother offering trades if they don't agree with the TV or the notion of TV being different from the price for sale.

Generally you include the price of shipping to Canada/US in the price of the carrier. If you bought it off FSOT you usually list it for the same price or slightly less, and you end up eating the cost of shipping. You can figure it out the cost on the Canada Post site, or by going to a post office. I usually sent wraps Small packet airmail to the US which was usually around $10 I think (it's been a while though, maybe it's more than that).

It has mostly been around $10 for me. I have made people pay shipping before though too.

ok so i guess it doesn't sound too bad then? not a big pain?

is it a pain to look up postage prices online, and like have people pay shipping though? because then you have to look it up or go to the po to check?
