OMG! Ur right.. every single one of those are total crap to me.. except for the whole leaving ur kid in the car thing, the rest is crap...
and the one that blew my mind was not sharing a spoon with ur LO...
Not so fast. These are perfect ways to pass the cavity-causing bacteria (and other germs) in your mouth to your baby, says dentist Ignelzi.

A cleaner idea: Taste with one spoon and feed with another. And wash off or use a wipe to clean pacifiers.
    Who writes this crap?!?!

I dunno some of it makes sense, like not leaving a child unattended in a vehicle even for a second, watching children when they are in the bath tub... I dont agree with putting a baby to bed with a bottle period no matter what the contents there is some truth to being careful when you buy second hand toys, watch out for recalls and expiry dates, I dont feel kids need as much tv as many get so I dunno, some of the points seem legit to me. The bed sharing and other points I dunno just seem like hype to scare people to me

Yep most of it was pretty dumb, some of it was basic common sense. I'm not a fan of the “cleaning“ the pacifier by sucking on it though, I think it's kinda gross.

I like the comment about vaccinations:

“In 2008, when the U.S. experienced its largest measles outbreak in a decade, nearly half the 131 sickened kids were unvaccinated.“

So what she's actually saying is that OVER half WERE vaccinated? More vaccinated kids than unvaccinated kids got sick? And 135 children got sick out of the whole US population? Wow, percentage-wise, I think there are much more dangerous things out there she could have used as an example (not that it makes it any better for the kids who got sick, obviously). I know this isn't a vax/anti-vax thread, I'm just pointing out that she used evidence that said the opposite of what she was trying to say

Top mistake even smart mums make - listening to people like her!

Some of the stuff made sense, but she was very sweeping and condescending with everything she said.

I know!! it just seems so crazy. Some of it is very obvious common sense as a parent. But others seem like judging scare tactics for new moms.

Some of this stuff is obviously very controversial, like the bed-sharing, etc., but I'm surprised that so many people seem to think the whole thing is complete crap! I fail to see how telling people to make sure their kids wear helmets on bikes, and are supervised in the bathtub is crap.

Well I couldn't get through it, but things like wearing a helmet or not leaving a baby in the bath is very common sense and told to parents in many places. So it was either eyeroll worthy or nothing new.

thats exactly it. But I do leave my under 5 year old in the tub by himself. He sings, and I yell at him/go in check.
