Thumbs down cascade 2 in 1 action pacs..

*rambling vent warning* dh bought a big container of these. i opened the container, and then the lid wouldnt close properly so i had to transfer all the pacs to glass jars. while doing so one at a time, dh thought itd be faster just to pour them, one fell on the floor and the dog came within millimeters of eating it and almost bit dh when he stopped him (hahaha). and then i put the empty container in the blue box and it rained last night.

i did one load of dishes with this product and they look cloudy and have a stupid chemically/fruity smell. gross! im going to have to try vinegar to rinse the dishes. and now i have to wait for the container to dry so i can bring it back to the store. what a PITA.

we normally use a product called 'finish' by electrosol and have been quite happy with that.

I've been using those ones for the past year or so and love them! I buy the 110 pack from Costco when it is on sale for $14 and it lasts 6-8 months.

I have used them in the past with no problem but maybe I just didn't notice cloudy dishes... right now I've got Finish tabs with the powerball and they seem to do a good job!

I use the finish tabs with the power ball, and HATE them. My dishes end up needing to be washed by hand because of all the white spots all over the dishes.

I love the Action tabs, they have made my dishes the cleanest out of both.

I wonder if it depends on your water? Maybe some work better with harder/softer/more chlorinated water?

I never had a problem with them. I used them in hardish water in Edmonton and strathroy and I have super soft water here and its even better! Sorry you are having issues with them.

Oh, no! I usually use Finish but have used these too without problem. I'd drop the company a line too to let them know your experience!

thanks ladies. i think half the problem is our old dishwasher. but why would one product (finish) work great, and not the cascade?

I don't know why it would work better with one over another, but I know tabs or gel packs work much better in ours then regular powder.

As for how often they are on sale, I'm not sure, I go in about ever 2-3 months and have managed to get them on sale the last two times I needed some.
