    Default Could it be starting?

Last Thursday my midwife checked me (1cm) and for the next couple of days I had some light bleeding and the usual BH contractions.

The bleeding stopped and yesterday I had nothing at all. Last night I started to have period like cramping starting in the evening and it hasn't let up. Nothing overly painful but definitely low and with backache. Also, when I got up to pee (the numerous times ) I had bloody show along with increased discharge.

Do you think this is still related to the check on Thursday or can read more into it! Oh...and I'm 38 weeks 4 days.

I want to have this LO!!!

Contractions feel like period cramps that steadily get worse.
Have a bath & a big glass of water. If they continue, then you're likely in the real deal. If you have raspberry leaf tea, drink a cup to help the contractions get stronger.
    Good luck!!!

    i agree with pumpkins mom!
and some evening primrose oil, in the cervix and in by mouth will help too!
    you're heading for delivery mama!
the warm bath will really help too...not only with comfort, but it soothes and relaxes the muscles, should help open things up more for baby to drop further and progress!
rocking on your hands and knees(like when scrubbing floors..) is great at this point too, gravity will help pull that baby right into the ideal position and move things along.

awww sounds promising! Especially the show, I hear that's a good sign.
I've been having a ton of annoying braxton hicks contractions lately but they never turn into anything. Ho hum!

So no progress through the day I'm so impatient! Still having painful contractions about 20mins apart. I'll be curious to see what the MW says on Wed. when I see her.

It's been a really rough day. We are moving overseas soon and today I had to give up my cat because we can't take him with us. He was my “baby“ through the 4 years we were TTC and a huge comfort through the IVF process. It's amazing how attached you can get. Crying and contractions really don't go well together!

Have lots of sex & make sure his stuff stays in you for a bit. If you orgasm, that's even better.
Start scrubbing your floors on hands in knees, drink raspberry leaf tea, go for a long walk.
Don't despair, I know it's hard when you're so close to the end. The baby just needs a bit longer to cook. He/she will come when they're ready.
And when you see your MW, ask for a stretch & sweep. Hugs mama.

Ok....It's 3:15 in the morning and I'm up which mean things are progressing. Contractions are getting more painful and lasting slightly longer. I think for the last hour they've be 5 mins or so apart lasting 20-30ish seconds. It's been almost 24 hours since I lost my muscus plug. I'm still having some bloody show when I wipe. I'm still functioning ok and feel like I'm in control during contractions. I sent DH back to bed.

I'd like to make it until morning before calling the midwife. I think my plan will be to try and get some rest and wait until the contractions are longer in length. What do you think?

Yes, i would try to rest - but that is easier said then done. You could have a baby by lunch today.....or tomorrow!! you never know...good luck.

Baby Arden Kathleen was born at 8:10 this morning. She was in a hurry! It was a beautiful home birth with no interventions. She's healthy 9 lbs 2oz and I'm tired but great with no tearing. 4 hours of active labour. We are over the moon!
