Default Green thumbs! ?? about frost

So I bought myself a beautiful hanging basket of New Guinea Impatiens yesterday and completely forgot the frost warning. I brought the basket in this am, the leaves are all wilted on one side and the flowers are falling off. Did I kill my plant??

It says on the tag it's hardy to 30F..

I think you may have killed it. It was a pretty hard frost last night. I covered my seedling and it looks like at least a few still didn't make it. They are brown, soon likely to be black

I maybe wrong!! Keep an eye on it and perhaps it will be ok. Put it in some warm sun today and see what happens. Just bring it back in tonight as I think there is another frost warning.

You will have killed off part of it for sure....you'll know in a few days.

I think you are right. 1/2 of the plant seems okay, the other half is def dead.

Boo hiss to the frost! I can't wait till it's reliably warm. Fingers crossed your plant makes it.

Thats ok! Go out and find some other annuals you like and fill the other side. You could even remove the plant you have, center it and plant something around it. See it as an opportunity. Mother nature does as she pleases.

New Guineas do not like the cold at all! They are more sensitive than regular impatiens. Hopefully, it'll make it. It might look a bit funny if some of it dies and the rest lives, though.
