    Default gravol isn't helping

Nathan started with vomitting after dinner, probably 630ish..

I picked up gravol, and gave him some about 45-60mins ago. He's woken up three times since to vomit.

how much/how long before I get concerned? I don't really want to offer much by way of fluids because it just leads to more puking (we were trying small frequent sips, but stopped for the time being). He's vomiting a fair amount each time. I also know it doesn't take horribly long to become dehydrated, and I'd really like to avoid an ER trip for IV fluids.

Matthew's puking was sudden onset (around 1030-11pm last night) and done by 3am.. he had a few good pukes and was done. Dh was up most of the night (puking), and slept all day. But he's an adult and well.. he can take care of himself.. lol

I'm quickly running out of pillows, and dry places to put him.

(altho I gotta send a shout out to pancakemom and says thanks for telling me about nature's miracle.. im really glad I invested in the big jug now!!!)

When Savannah was sick we gave her a no name pepto.. it sometimes stayed down, other times it didn't.
I would continue giving him small amounts of fluids at a time, especially since he's dry heaving now better to have something to bring up then nothing and dry heaving.. as gross as getting sick is! Plus it will help keep him hydrated
    Hope he feels better soon!

what about clear freezies? My mom says she always gave 1/4 - 1/2 the dose of gravol at a time.

The gravol that he had is a write off ...I'd personally hold off on that for the time being. I would go with what he feels like. Can you chip/crush some ice and give him that...that way it's soothing to his throat, provides a tiny bit of fluid, but he can't gulp it. if he's saying he's thirsty, just let him have the tiniest sips. Hopefully it'll be just the diarrhea now and the vomitting will be over with. Just see what he can tolerate and take it slow.

Ugh...sorry the sickies are running through your house. I hope you can escape it and that everyone is back to normal soon.

ETA: posted at the same time. If he's weak & lethargic and you can't get him to take anything in...then I change my answer to I'd probably take him in.

i actually don't have any ice here! Gah. DH ate it all last night/today.

He'll take sips of his water, but doesn't want freezie/popsicle

Gah.. talk about explosive diahrea. :S :S :S

I don't think he's too the point yet where he needs IV fluids.. but I know he'll get there if we can't keep some fluids down in the next little while..

he stopped vomiting this morning at 5am.

    Still has AWFUL diahrea.

I'm not going to proclaim this issue over yet though.. lol neither Noah or I have had it yet, and I figure if I'll only jinx myself if I proclaim defeat. lol
So, we're all taking it easy and enjoying some light tummy foods, and lots of fluids!

Glad to hear it is 1/2 over...but I think the poops are just about as bad. Hopefully he's over it soon and Noah and you avoid it.

lol Tan.. I hope it passes soon too!

It doesn't seem to last long, but when it hits, it's full force.

It was like a scene from a horror movie or something last night in here. lol

    Exorcist vomiting and all
