    Default What are you reading?

What are you guys reading right now (baby/birth related)? Any books you'd recommend? I plan on picking up a copy of Hypnobirthing and am currently reading Husband-Coached Childbirth.

There's a coupon on Smart Canucks right now... B1G1 50% off I think it's just this weekend though...

In the past I've read Chicken Soup for the Pregnant Mother's Soul and really enjoyed it. It is an easy read of course, but had me teary a few times.
And Baby Proofing your Marriage (I think that is what it is), was pretty funny, and a nice read.

I just finished Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and loved it. She takes all the fear out of the process and is very empowering. She's also very honest and straighforward which I really appreciated.

I loved this book too. The first half is full of positive birth stories. Too often all we hear are the horror stories and it was nice to hear that many, many, many babies have normal births.

Babyproofing your Marraige was hilarious! Right now I'm reading The Birth Partner and Husband Coached Birth. Both very good!

I am about to finish this:

chapters.indigo.ca: Bear With Me: What They Don't Tell You About Pregnancy And New Motherhood: Diane Flacks: Books

I absolutely loved it. Probably the best book I've read so far. She's hilarious, and I could totally relate to her sense of humor. A few pages in, you learn she is having a child with a same sex partner - but it doesn't become the focus of the book - the only part that really was any different was the way they went about the conception.

What I love is that she has a hospital birth using a midwife - and she's from Ontario - Toronto to be exact. So I found a lot of her info relevant. Loving it. Probably finish the last bit of the last chapter in the bubble bath tonight.

I'm curious to check out the Ina May book - it sounds good.
