Default baby wearing help!

I know there must be the info I need floating around but I havne't the time (or patience) to find it... please forgive me. I need advice on a super colickly baby who demands to be carried all the time. I have a pouch sling that works but is killing my back and a Baby Bjorn that I love but she is still too small (her head bops all around). What is the best carrier for a newborn (10lbs, 4 weeks) that will keep her close and not kill my back. I have a toddler to run after so I would prefer to have my hands free. Something not too challanging would be great too (really dumb these days)... And I would come to the baby wearing meetings but DD#1 sleeps during that time and having her miss her nap would only make matters worse. Please HELP!!!!

You need a wrap!! Not too difficult to learn (I had to do it in front of the mirror the first few times) and incredibly comfy - the weight will be spread over your shoulders, you'll hardly feel her there. I've had Jack in one since he was born (9 lb 12 oz) and I still have him in it every day (he's probably around 14lb now).

I have an extra one that I bought from the baby wearing group - it's home made by bikruca - if you're interested or want to just try it for a few days.

Do you have to purchase the wrap there, or can you bring one you already have? Is there a fee?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!

I agree with a wrap

If you're worried about the tonne of material and how to tie it (although you'll get the hang of it in no-time!), then I'd say a Mei Tai for sure. They are fabulous!! Both are super for distributing weight so your shoulders don't get sore.

I don't have a pouch, but have used a ring sling quite a bit and find that whether it gets sore or not depends on where the shoulder is positioned. When it is out on the corner of the shoulder rather than closer to the neck I can carry my heavy little one (22 1/2 lbs!) for quite awhile without problems. Perhaps bring your pouch to the babywearing thing too in case someone can help you adjust it to be more comfortable?

Good luck!

I agree with the wrap. I luv mine, especially with a toddler to run after, and I get lots of compliments on it. A hint is if you're going shopping or whatever tie it before you leave, and just slip baby in when you arrive.
