Default Anyone else going to St. Joe's celebration for low birthweight babies? (this w/e!)

We received an invitation for the celebration of babies born 2003/04/05 at St. Joe's and we're definitely going! I just wondered if anyone else's LO was born in those years and did you receive your invite?

    (it's on June 5th)

Ryan was born in Nov. 2004 we got our invite and we're definitely going too. I'm so excited, it'll be nice to see everyone (nurses, dr.s etc) outside of the NICU

Hmm...was she preemie/low birthweight? I wonder if they make a distinction between preemies vs. others who were in NICU for short periods for something else?

    Now I'm curious....

and yeah, Indigo if you're gonna be in these parts, we all wanna see you

And I bet they do Indigo. We weren't there long (long enough in my books lol), DS was not preemie, but was on a ventilator for a couple of days. He could not maintain his o2 sats, nor could he maintain his body temp. He also got really, really bad jaundice and of course with most NICU babies, he wasn't feeding well. We were very lucky though and he quickly overcame most of the hurdles in his path.

I dont think alot of folks are realizing this is for NICU babies (when i click new posts i know i dont always check to see what section, so you may want to edit the OP???)

and yes, we're very grateful it was a short stay!

She was born 5 1/2 weeks early at 4lbs 11oz and had severe lung disease. She was there a little over a week then transfered to St. Thomas for another week.

Not sure if that qualifies us or not, that was why I was curious about the details

We're heading to London tomorrow and we'll be going to the celebration.

Roll call again Who from here? I will be asking everyone there if they are one of the LM's

Also, just wondering how people are feeling about it? I've been so excited for so long, but today I am suddenly feeling very nervous and very emotional. Do the nurses go as well? If I see the 2 primary nurses that DS had, I will bawl, I'm sure.

Don't know why I'm so nervous though.
