i did the first few days, a few times a day. now I am comfortable and she likes it there, so I leave it up to them to call me in case something comes up, otherwise I only call if I forgot to mention something important.

I like to pop in about once a month just to see how she's doing.

At first though she really hated that I popped in and left without her... so I don't do mid-day drop-ins because it was pretty traumatic for her when I left. So normally I just pop in 15 minutes early to check in on her, chat with her daycare ladies, and watch her play and interract before we go.

Not so much now, unless she's recovering from something (a cold, surgery). The have my work cell, I'm pretty easy to got ahold of in case of emergencies.

For DS first few weeks I called during nap time to see how his day was going. He is at a center. His teachers actually encouraged I called, they knew it would make me feel better.

I found that after a month, he go the routine of things and he wasn't sad when we left. Now he can't wait to get in the door.

I would definitely call, just make sure it is at a convenient time

I will call if she has had a weird drop off or something. Yesterday for example her usual teachers were both off sick and she cried at dropoff. So I called partway thru the day to see that she was coping.

We have webcams that allow us to see part of the room, so that is our check-in
