Default College Class Schedule?

What's a college class schedule like? Or does it totally depend on what you are taking?
How many hours approx. do you spend in class?

**Added questions in post 4**

It probably depends on what you're taking.
I took the General Arts program and I had class 5 days a week, anywhere between 8:30 and 5:30, I think about 15-20 hours/week.

I would say it depends on what you're taking. My first year was pretty packed with classes but last year I had one day off and another day only one class. Hopefully you can get a schedule with back-to-back classes and no 1-2 hour breaks in between cause that sucks. Most of my classes were 2 hours each, some were just one but most were 2. With the classes I was taking it was mostly written stuff so sometimes I could miss a class and not really miss much cause I just borrowed notes from someone else (not saying skipping is a good idea but it's an option if you are really tired one day)

Just bumping this incase anyone else can answer too!
I emailed the program director to see if they can give me a better idea of the schedule too.

I am looking at Financial Planning, starting in September.

When do you get your class schedule for programs at Fanshawe?

There are 6 courses per term. Do most programs have classes everyday, all day? Are there evening classes too at Fanshawe? Does each course have just one class a week, or a few days a week?

I am just so confused how I will be able to arrange childcare... ready to rip my hair out thinking about it!

First semester at Fanshawe for all business programs are the same. You'll be mixed in with Accounting, General Business, etc...

Classes are not all day every day. It's like max 20hrs a week for first year. Most days I didn't have classes until 10am (other then my 8am - 3hr optional computer lab on Fridays). I think they knew I was an afternoon person as almost all my classes were scheduled then. The number of classes for each course depends on the class. I know for Marketing I had 1 class a week, but it was 2hrs long. I then would have 2 classes for accounting and an optional lab (that I always did at home). Most days I was actually at school for 3-4 hrs, with maybe a 1hr break for lunch (that could have been at 11am, or at 1pm.. depended on the day).

You can take evening classes for pretty well all business type courses as well, they have blended classes (partially online, partially in class), online only and in class courses available. Not all classes are available all semesters, stuff over the summer term is fairly limited.

I don't think I got my schedule until fairly close to when school started. Generally I'd be prepared to have classes from 8am - 5pm, but they do tend to schedule them in blocks so you'll probably only need to be away from your LO for 4-5 hrs at a time at most.

Thank you so much!!
That's good to know that some are online and blended too. I will be driving 40 minutes there, so even one less class in class would be nice.

What program did you take?

I was in accounting, ended up getting a job I couldn't turn down during the summer break between year 1 and year 2. Ended up switching into General Business and finished my program through evening/online classes 2 years later then planned (had a baby in the middle as well).
