Default Crib safety

So we got this crib as a hand-me-down... We just set it up and realized it was made in '95. I just googled and from all I can see as long as it's not made before '86 it's OK... But is there like an expiry or something on cribs like there is with carseats? It's just weird to me to think that it's 15 years old. It's sturdy, there's probably nothing wrong with it, just wanted to make sure.

should be fine.
Carseats expire b/c the plastic gets brittle from being in extreme temperatures.

this is probably bad but DD sleeps in a crib from '88 (if not younger) at my parents place. It was my sisters. It looks brand new really and I never worried about it.

we got our crib from my cousin and I'm sure its about 10 years old and never thought twice about its safety. oops.

you're good

And yep, its the plastic on the carseats that is the issue.

Wood is different.

If you can find metal brackets to replace any plastic ones you're golden. (But I think they were made with metal then anyways??)

Just make sure the slots are a certain length apart .... I'm sure it's fine to use as long as there were no recalls on it ever which I'm guessing there wasnt...

Yeah, nothing has changed in regulations since '86 and that was the slat spacing. We were given on from mid ninties and I went looking and realized it had been a LONG time since an update to cribs Set it up and make sure everything is nice and secure with the hardware that you have and you're set!
