Default seems like perfect timing for an intro
i've been lurking and posting bits here 'n there for a short while but keep putting off doing my introduction.
well about 4.5hrs ago, my water broke so i figured now is as good a time as any.

my name is melissa but half the world calls me daisy. either or is groovy with me.

i grew up in st.thomas but haven't lived in this area since 1994. my hubby and i moved here to london on oct 31st, 2009.
we came from a beautiful horse farm outside of orangeville and are now living with my parents while we have the baby and get some debts paid off.

i'm so excited to be here as london has so many resources for moms 'n babies 'n families.
plus we have my family all right here which has just been wonderful.

we are planning for a home birth and our midwife came by a few hours ago to check me out and so far so good. the only thing is my blood pressure keeps rising slightly so if it gets to over 90 she says i have to go to the hospital.

i'm not contracting yet either so we are on a bit of a time limit. if i don't start contracting by 1pm tomorrow afternoon then she said we'll have to go to the hospital and be induced. so i am hoping that things get a-movin' soon.

also, i'll just note that tomorrow is my 38th birthday and my hubby has been saying all along that she (we're expecting a girl) will be born on my b.day. so it's starting to look that way.

anyway, i have just loved this community already and have learned so much in my short time here.

Just so you know though, it's common practise to provide regular updates while you are in labour so that are all aware of your progress! Thanks!

Oh, how exciting!!! I hope you get your home birth!

Drink LOTS OF WATER! 8oz an hour during labor! My midwife just told me she can not stress it enough - if you dont get enough it can contribute to high BP.
