    Default Front Door mat

I like my front door mat and I think I have had it for 7 yrs. It is looking very dirty these days and I don't know how to wash it. I would hate to put it in my washer because of all the dirt in it and I won't want to bring it to the laundry mat b/c that feels rude. So do I by a new one or does someone have a clever way to wash it??

are you talking about one of the outdoor entry mats, or an inside foyer mat??
if it is an outdoor one..I would try a pressure washer and wash it like a car...indoor mat- I might try the pressure washer idea also, taking the mat outside to wash it of course, or use a carpet cleaner.

I washed mine in the washer the other day and yeah it's out in the garbage to be picked up. I ruined it. Pressure wash it for sure or carpet cleaner..

I'd try the car wash thing. For $3, it is worth a shot!

Last year when we put on the foyer I bought two mats that are machine washable and they get done once a month. They are each 3'x5' and were $30 for nice patterned ones. They have held up well and are in great shape.

Excellent idea, I will take it to the car wash with me next time I go. It is the inside mat.

I use my carpet shampooer on mine. (If it's indoors)
