I must be the only one here who hasn't studied the types of twins. All I know is my girls were frats with separate sacs and blood vessels which I was told was a good thing and they kept within ounces of each other during my whole pregnancy. Despite having been birthed early they were super healthy; this was a good thing........just wished I'd have gone with my gut instinct to let me deliver naturally when my girls were ready.

I didn't read much about my twin pregnancy. I was in complete denial for my whole pregnancy.

I spent a lot of my pregnancy just trying to figure out the logistics of having two babies and a young toddler. It was overwhelming every day. I think if I had of had someone else to talk to who had been there to help validate my thoughts and fears, I'd be a different mom of multiples today. But I'm getting the hang of it now - 16 months in

I think this is a great resource. Pick our brains! We're here to help!!

Now that I've had twins and they have mild special needs as well; someone once said to me that it was like mommy'ing triplets or quads with the extra *extra* work. So I could handle having another set of twins, no problem. At 3 1/2 I still have to guess as to what they are feeling if in pain etc, still in diapers etc so it does become a breeze and it sure does get easier just like everyone told me when they were small enough to fit in one arm.

I had fraternal boys at 36 weeks. 6 lbs 3 oz and 5lbs 9 oz. At 34 week ultrasound they were getting concerned with the size difference and debated a csection however decided to leave it another week and watch and twin b had gained some so size wasn't that far apart. 3 days before I went into labour I had an ultrasound that showed they were transverse so we booked a csection 10 days out. When I went into labour they did a quick ultrasound to see position and twin A had turned head down (I didn't even feel them move that much - and I didn't think there was enough room for them to flip but never underestimate the power of nature) delivered naturally - twin a head first - twin b 22 min later feet first - they spent 2 weeks in the nicu for feeding - twin a was ready to go home after 2 days however their practice at the time was to release together unless one really sick (I believe this has changed) so we had to wait for them both to gain weight before they were released . . . which took almost 2 weeks. I know others who have had twins that have been sent home a lot sooner. I think was just the hospital I was in (North Bay) and their practice at that time. Good Luck . . . . . . Wish you and your family all the best - I do recommend you join the twins club in town as they are very supportive especially to young twins. There are numerous people who attend from pregnancy. I miss my twin pregnancy . . . . and my guys so little . . . . . . Good luck to you - and enjoy!

my twins were born at 30 weeks (to the day) Emma (twin B) was 2lbs 15oz at birth and was called a “feed and grow“ baby. She came home 6 weeks after birth a full month before their due date weighing 4lbs 5oz Jenna had multiple complications and was almost 6 months old before she came home.

I know more people that have gone closer to full term with twins than preemies. I think it is more of a 50/50 though.

I was admitted to St. Joe's at 30 weeks with my triplets and they were delivered by C-section at 37 weeks, because Valerie's placenta was starting to calcify - she was 'term' but never triggered labour. They weighed 4 lb. 7 oz, 4 lb. 9 oz and 5 lb. 6 oz and came home with me after one week.

i had mine at 32 weeks, they were early but left the hospital 3 weeks later at 35 weeks, each hospital is different, ours were not in london so i don't know if that made a difference
but i have heard of lots of people having them 38 weeks plus, big healthy babies!!
