Dont be embarassed! I had a playdate a couple weeks ago and the only one who wasnt on antidepressants was the woman who DIDNT have any kids. Go figure. I am weaning off, myself. I was on them for a year after a lifetime of fighting not to be put on them. I think I finally got a handle on it though. I went to doctors and counsellors. The best thing I did in the long run was diet and exersize. Hate to say it. Hate to do it. But it seems to work.
Good luck - dont be shy or embarassed here! We all have our 'thing' and everyone is supportive. Welcome to Londonmoms!

Mother reach is great! I'm going there tomorrow. Joanna runs the group and she went through a severe PPD about 15 years ago. She's wonderful.
Welcome to LM.

Welcome!
Don't be embarassed at all, we all go through are own struggles and the best thing we can do for ourselves and our kids is admit it and take the help we can get. I have no personal experiance with PPD but I do know Merrymount is a great resource.
Take Care of you.

I am in the similar situation to you I have a 2.5 year old and an almost 4 month old. I have found the transition really hard as well. I have wondered at times if I had some PPD. I am starting to feel a LOT better though. I think in part due to starting to excercize, and in part to getting out more regularly with a group of moms and having time to talk to them If you ever want to message me and chat, feel free. I am on here pretty regularly.

I had ppd with my first so I understand. I wished her dead, which was completely NOT normal. PM me if you'd like, I'd be more than willing to share my experience and talk with you...I wished I'd had someone to let know what was going on at the time, without judgement or fear that my child would be taken away.

Hi there, I have been there and can empathize.
I“d be happy to help if I can.
Please feel free to contact me through london moms.
I am actually on here bc (as 4th grade as this sounds) I am a professional who has decided to take a hiatus from work to be a stayathome mom with her kids until they are older. I need to make new friends, as the majority of mine are working.
So feel free to contact me. Maybe we can help each other!
All the best, J

Welcome! Glad that you joined! You are definitely not alone. I have a 4-year-old and a 3.5 month old. I am finding the transition very challenging and overwhelming some days. My dh is working overtime right now and sometimes the days feel so long and that there is so much to do by myself. I have been feeling a bit down lately too (ok, quite a bit) and I know that the weather really affects my mood too. I know it's hard to but I just keep reminding myself that we are still in the adjustment phase and it doesn't last forever and it will get better. I also agree with previous posts about exercise and eating well as well as getting sleep/rest as much as you can.
I'm sure that you will find a lot of support here and realize that you are not alone!

You don't need to feel embarrassed about PPD Carez. You didn't choose PPD.Seeking help from professionals is an applaudable action, one you should be proud of when you take that step.
It's rare anyone brushes off PPD these days or is ignorant about it to the point of blaming or accusing.
If you encounter someone like that, don't give up - move on to the next professional.
I never had PPD but had depression before my children were born. With each birth (two kids) it got less and less for me. I'm the abnormality. For most people with depression, your hormones make it worse after babies. It's normal, it's common, you're not alone!!!
Welcome.

I am new here to and a bit techno challenged so please forgive me if I mess up my posts!!!
Please don't be embarrassed, I had a tough time with my second-(she is 4 months now) as well at the beginning and some days are tough still. The winter doesn't make it any easier either. The contacts the other moms have provided are excellent, try the phone first and then try to get out of the house. Any adult contact helps!
Please let me know if you want to get together and chat, I usually am the one asking for advice (thus the user name) - so an empathetic ear is here for you. I am in the north end, so Masonville would be convenient, but I a can meet anywhere.
I also have a DD who will be 3 in April.
Take care!
