Default need a change

hi leslie! im a new mom and am on mat leave and am thinking of making a career change. im a newly licensed hair stylist and as much as i enjoy it i really want something thats going to help pay the bills and offer benefits. im in my early 30's and going to school for 3 years is out of the question. i was thinking about some of those private colleges you hear about. do you know how those diplomas appear to an employer? or is it a waste of money? and do you have any recomendations on what courses to take. which ones will offer the most job opportunities. i was hoping to start something now online too. any sudjestions? thanks!

To be honest, I'd be skeptical about private colleges- that's just my opinion, though! Some employers look at them favourably, and others don't. I'd look very, very critically at the courses you are considering and also their job placement rates. I hear they can be very expensive...

As far as field to get into, the sky is the limit! What's important first and foremost, is for you to determine exactly which field you want to get into. There are lots of personality assessments available online- I'd recommend doing a few to figure out where an ideal match would be for you. A good one is the Myers-Briggs assessment. There is lots of information out now on college websites as far as job placement rates, starting wages etc., check that out too!

Good luck!
