Default Getting a passport for a special needs child...

Has anyone gone through this process? Is it different from the standard process?

    TIA.

No reason that it should be. The only thing that I anticipate problems with with my guy, is getting an acceptable photo.

This is what I thought. The only reason we haven't done it, is because of the photo!

We have to get one too! Should be fun trying to keep my DD still and to look at the camera without smiling.

I wonder if they would make any allowances for children/people with special needs. Some don't have all that great control of their heads or facial features, so I would hope the photo requirement isn't as strict. You could likely call and find out.

We got our kids passports last year and have 3 sn kids. They were a bit more lenient on the pics for them but other than that everything was/is the same

I just got passports for both my kids and getting Daegan's was no different than getting one for his sister Taylor.

I got one for my son as we will be going to Florida this coming August so we needed one...it was a little bit of a challenge to take the picture as he kept wanting to smile...LOL...but we managed, the photography studio we went to were amazing and very patient

if you are driving over the boarder you dont' need a passport. You will only need on if you are traveling by land or you kids are over the age of 16.

    Just something to think about.

Thanks, everyone! I'm not asking for myself, but for a close friend whose son is 18 with ASD. They want to go to England to visit family.

I truly appreciate all of the information, you ladies are great.
