Default Teachers at Fanshawe College might go on strike

I was laying in bed this morning listening to the radio and it said the teachers at Fanshawe College might be next to go on strike, so just a heads up to anyone who currently attends the college or who will be in the near future. I didn't get to hear anymore about this possibility but keep your eyes and ears out for this one!
I don't have a link to this story unfortunately. Has anyone else heard this?
It might explain the reason yesterday when I was online on knighthunter checking job listings out why they are looking for various teachers in various departments to teach. Hmmm....

What happens if the teachers strike? Are all the classes cancelled?

Classes cancelled then depending on how long it goes you can lose the semester.

what happens to students relying on OSAP or second career funding to live? I can't imagine it'd be too easy to find a job if suddenly a ton of Fanshawe students need one all of the sudden

I am not sure how it would affect OSAP - but my guess is that it would not be 'positively'

Striking unions often hurt way more people then they benefit IMO ... but their concern is not for the customers affected by the strike...their mandate is getting the best possible contract for the group they represent ... even if it means disruption in service to the people they serve!
