    Angry neighbor problems

We have been having problems with our neighbor that has moved in, in September. Were getting to the point of us moving earlier then what we want.

She has 2 big dogs that bark and wine every time she leaves her town house. This can be for 15mins or up to 6 hours of them going on and off. We have 2 young boys that go to bed by 8:30. And sometimes the dogs are going past 9. We talked to her 3 times. And told her that if it happens again. We would call animal control. Now the dogs are still doing it but it seems not so much because she doesn't leave her house now.

We are writing everything down when we hear it what times and what day.

Should we be doing anything else??

Oh and on a side note this morning she yelled @ us and said that are f#*king son woke her up @ 7. Ummmm I'm not sure how Ben woke her up seeing how he didn't get up till 7:30 and came downstairs very quietly. (Most morning he yells for Ryan to go downstairs with him). And she has kids that don't go to school half the time or they are late most of the time. So 7 is a normal time to get up if ur kids go to school.

So this got me really upset and I told her she should keep her dogs quiet because they make my boys up all the time. And told her to mind her own business.

Normally I wouldn't have said anything @ all but seeing my hormones are crazy right now I did.

I'm just so frustrated with her.

Sorry I just needed to write this down. I have no one to talk to right now. Ryan is working and I think bff is working.

Thanks for letting me vent. I so needed it. It might be stupid but still needed to let it out.

eta... sorry if its in the wrong area, move if you need to

Does she rent? You could call her landlord if so, as she can be evicted for dogs creating a disturbance.

I think you are supposed to call the cops rather than animal control. They will show up and warn, and then ticket I believe.

I will file a complaint with the landlord and inform the landlord you will be calling the police. Show the police what you have documented. Good luck - that would drive me bonkers!

If you contact the by-law office, they will send a letter stating the cities' noise by-law to her. From that point, you submit an official complaint, which you need those times/dates of noise for court.
I understand completely how frustrating it is to have an inconsiderate neighbor with dogs.
My DH went out & bought a bird house that sits on our deck - when the dog barks, it sends a high frequency screech that they hate & it stops. It runs about $80 though.
    Good luck!

Well yeah you could def. wait and see but I'd call the landlord if it continues. They tend not to like bad neighbour relations.

And IMO cops over animal control. At least that's who showed up when I was dogsitting for M's dad and my own dog barked her fool head off while I thought she was asleep in the kitchen.

PS When I called the police, they said to call the by-law office. I think they only deal with it after hours & the ppl have to be home or they don't respond.

I went through such a runaround. P'd me right off. No one wanted to admit they were responsible in dealing with it. Animal control is a complete waste of time, unless the dogs are being abused or on the loose.

    I have had similar problems.
Talk to your landlord and let them know that it's causing you problems living there. They can kick them out if they are disturbing other people living in the building.
And call the police, non-emergency #. Keep calling them every time there is a disturbance. If they have to come enough times, they will ticket them.

That sounds very frustrating and hard to deal with! She sounds like she just doesn't care. I hope you can get this dealt with and promptly at that, seeing as it has been going on for several months as it is. Best of luck to you!
