Default My 9 month old smells

Well, since being sick with a nasty cold for two weeks, DD smells different. Her forehead in particular. When we snuggle, she just has a funny smell. Not sure what I am asking...anyone have any insights?

Hmm. Mine smells 'sick' when she is sick sometimes. I know what you mean. But it goes away when she gets better.

It thinking it is maybe post nasal drip? I know it gives adults bad smelling breath, and a bad smell all around. You may want to have her checked if you suspect she may have a sinus infection.

At that age they don't have sinuses.

Check the creases in her neck. I know that sounds weird, but I remember when my DD was a baby I was missing a crease in her neck after her bath and it held water and moisture and I thought her head stunk too. One day I saw how horribly red it was and figured it out.

In this case I don't believe the internet.

This directly contradicts what my doctor told me as recently as last week.

Or maybe it's time for a new doctor!

Is it a stinky smell, or just different? I always know when DD1 is getting sick bc she smells different. My mom thinks it's weird, but I've never been wrong. It isn't stinky, just not her normal smell.

It is her forehead that smells different. It isn't overpowering, DH doesn't notice, but I just can't get past it. I wonder if it is sweat...
It started when she got sick, she is getting better, so hopefully it goes away and she can smell sweet again!

yes i lnow what your talking about its the “sick breath“ or “sick smell“ you can tell when a person is getting sick, or is sick by their breath in particular or their smell. My sisters a nurse and she said she smells for sickness too..(if that makes sense) it really stinks..there is no describing it, it just smells bad!
Families are like fudge... mostly sweet with a few nuts.

Eww, I totally remember my DS had that as well. I think with him it was mostly spit-up (which he did ALL the time). Got trapped in there. I almost died when I realized I wasn't cleaning/drying it properly!

could she have cradle cap?...I know when I washed Kaeys hair one time, I realized she wasn't being rinsed and it did give off a mild odour when she was sweating....
