    Question CCTB question

Since DH has been laid off since September can I file for a reassessment? Or do I have to wait until July when they do it?

It is based on last years income, so you will have to wait till you do your taxes in 2010 and get your new amount in July.

Join the waiting line... my husband has been out of work since November of 2008 so his income from last year didn't reflect that he didnt' work... but this years will... thank goodness!

Our income dropped by more than a third. And we're adding another customer. I can't wait for July

we had the same thing last year. I was getting 585, then it dropped to 289 in July, and we were broke. This year, its insane what we get for CCTB. lol

Next year I'm sure we will fall into the middle- so somewhere around the 500mark again. Which will be another big drop from what we get now. lol

Now I'm confused. When in July does my baby need to be born by to qualify for an increase in the CCTB? I should know this and I totally don't remember how it worked when DD was born in Dec.

No, you apply whenever she is born, they take a couple weeks to process, then once the papers are processed she (he's) added, and you get backdated to when she was born.
