    Default DIY Waldorf Dolls Coop

There is a coop on Hyena Cart being run for these dolls. I think Siana is trying to get a few London Moms together to place an order (like the Diva Cup Coop) and have them all shipped to her and slpit on the shipping. I've been wanting a couple of these dolls for DS for a long time but the prices were a bit out of reach. I'm certainly crafty enough to make my own but with a kit it would be soooo much easier. I'm definitely placing an order but I thought I'd pass this on for other mamas in the same boat as me.

Also, if we can drum up enough interest here, perhaps we can do a coop of our own and save more on shipping by having the business owner ship them directly to us rather than through a third party. I think we only need to order a minimum of 6 of each doll type, so even if we only order 6 dolls total (so long as they are the same type - can be different skin/hair/clothing/etc) then we can place our own order.

Let me know what you think!

BTW - I'm planning on ordering atleast one (maybe two) of the friendship dolls. I'm thinking 16" and I might go for the pre-made body/head upgrades.

I started a thread about this a week ago in Frugal Finds:
    http://londonmoms.ca/Vbulletin/showthread.php?t=4583

Glad to know there is interest. My friends and I will probably be ordering 4 to 6 doll kits.

ETA: saw your post on HC I've been in touch with the owner already, so I don't mind asking her for direct pricing.

ETAA: Emailed Amy about direct co-op pricing. I hope she'll be willing to go with that, and I'll work on more friends

Any idea how difficult these are to make (I'm not an expert sewer!)

    They look neat!

I`m hoping they aren`t too hard but you can buy the ¨pgrades for the head and body so they`d be premade if you`re concerned. I can sew but it`s the time required that I`m concerned about. Still, I desperately want one for DS so I`ll have to make the time and give it a go! If you decide not to order with this coop, when I make mine I`ll let you know how easy it is or is not.

Just got a response from her

I do offer coops. I am a small business so I can only do one coop a month. I do have September open if you would like to host it. Here are the guild lines:

20% off all fabrics, supplies, kit's, dolls and doll clothes made by Dancing Rain Dolls when ordered in quanties of six. Patterns and kits, need to be the same pattern. When order dolls, they can be different and so can the clothing, like six different style dresses, or 6 pairs of shoes in all different colors. Fabric needs to be of one kind, but can be all different colors.

I only charge the actual shipping, but if custom dolls are ordered than they will need to be shipped seperatly and to each party, usually about $12 each depending on where they are going.

Kit's include everything except 5" doll making needle, a crochet hook in g or h and ball point needles for the machine, but these can still be ordered.

Being a small business I can be a bit flexable. I set these out as guildlines and goals, but if you have 11 kits come in and only 5 custom dolls, I will still be willing to give the discount on the dolls
So the September spot is ours

MM, would you like to run the co-op with me? It would be lovely to work beside you, since you've run very successful co-ops in the past

Sure I could run it WITH you but I've never 'officially' run a coop before. I assisted frog with match-ups in a swap and then just posted info that I passed on about other coops that were being run. Other than that I've only been a participant in swaps and coops. I'd love to see the inner workings of what it takes to run a coop and this would likely be small enough for me to get my feet wet

Running a co-op isn't difficult -- the hardest parts are arranging money drop-offs and product pick-ups.

I have to put a post up about the co-op being open, but I'll do it at a more sane time today! I'll also run the details by you MM before they're posted, okay?

Sounds good. I guess the other "issue" is that I don't technically live in London... Technically I'm in Halifax
