Unhappy I really hate to admit this but.....

I totally regret quitting my job.

I know it was a crap job, and it wasnt benefitting us in any means of the word. But with christmas being so close, even the 20 dollars I cleared would have helped.

Im not looking for pity or sympathy, I just needed to get that off my chest. I cant say that to anyone else because I would get a whole lot of "I told you so"

Me working just was not working out for us, with Markus being in school, no perminent child care, etc etc....but man this month has been one of our hardest.

I put out a few ads to take children in, but no interest yet.

Im just having a sad/ feeling useless moment.

    Awwww.....you are not useless.
Maybe there is something out there that will better benefit you and your family.
I don't think this is an option for you from what I can remember but is it possible to get a part time job where you only work evenings/weekends and DH watches the kids while you work?? This is what DH & I do and it costs us nothing for childcare so everything I make is ours.

If you can't find something here, that will work better than the other job, I'll eat a bug.

Thanks Zoo applied for 2 jobs!

Ultimately a night job would be ideal. Well kind of not. If I could find a job where I got off work at say 2 am, that would be perfect. I would never have to pay for child care. But all the night jobs are usually 11pm-7 am, and then I would have to find a babysitter to watch the kids from 430am till I got home, then there would just be no time for sleep.

Its not really a matter of me getting another job, because realistically I will be in the same spot I was in before. I have no false hopes really. Not saying I cant work KWIM? I would love to have a job, but with SO's hours, and no child care its not feasable (sp).

I think motherhood maternity was hiring? Have you asked other moms at school about before/after school care?

The only one who I was able to find who would even consider taking on Markus or Nolan, legally cant because she already has the limit.

If I move 2 seconds up the street, Markus would be bussed to school and would go every other day. Which would be good work wise. but then theres Nolan.

Ive had ads on Kijiji for having Nolan and Markus going else where as long as Markus can get to school, and no one from this area has responded. I have had lots of offers of help, but Markus would have to leave school.

Good luck.....with Christmas coming up there should be tons of temp jobs to pull you through the holidays. But I guess that doesnt solve your childcare problems. Sorry, if you live here I would help you out.......
One thing I did when I was single for extra cash was mystery shops for Derek A Lobo and Associates. Google DALA and it should come up. Paid $50 per shop and I did about 4 per month.......just a thought! All you have to do is go into an apt building and pretend to want to rent the apt, then write your report via email and they mail the check. VERY simple and easy and all you EVER shop is apts!

Good luck finding something that will work for you guys. You obviously weren't happy there. Don't feel bad about quitting. You will find something that suits you.

Actually in January the bus distances are being changed from 1.6km to 1.3km to sychronize with the catholic school board. At least in the Thames Valley Board.

Either way right now paying for child care, no minimum wage job is going to be worth it. KWIM? I understand lots of moms do it, but it just wouldnt fit our family.

I would love to go to my night job at CLL but its 11pm to 7 am, and well that doesnt work either...lol
