    Default I called 911,

Oh man!! Brooklyn got stung by 2 bees today and she hasnever been stung before. She came into the house crying and hoding her arm pit :? I gave her an ice pack and a hug and she whispered she needed a drink. When I gave her a drink of water she spit it out saying she could not swallow it Then she said her head felt all fuzzy and sat down on the kitchen floor. I knew I did not have any benadryl because I needed to buy some for allergy season. I really did not know what to do so I called 911 and explained to the operator. They sent an ambulance out and it arrived about 8 min later. By then I knew she was fine because she was still breathing. I have honestly never been so scared in my life. I am at home with 4 of my kids DH is at work with the van and I panicked. When the Ambulance got here they checked her vitals assured me that she was fine and that I did the right thing because if this had of been an anaphalactic (sp) reaction they would have needed to be here.
I was emabarasssed :? but I don't usually over react. I was just goign by what she was telling me and at 5 I am pretty sure she knows nothing of anaphalactic reactions to fake it.

Oh MAN I feel like I need a nap!!

Oh wow! You didn't overreact at all! They'd rather come out and she was fine than you wait and risk her life. Stings are not something to take lightly! I'm so glad she's ok!

Don't be embarassed. You didn't overreact at all. You had no clue where things were going and it could have turned out much worse!

Wow scary stuff. I would have freaked. You can never be too careful. If you called unnecessarily, I am sure they would have let you know. I am so glad to hear she is OK.

I agree you did the right thing! Best not to take chances when it come to anaphalatic shock!
